Josh “Wee Bike” Carroll A man who rides brakeless is a brave soul indeed. Josh is truly a gem to have around. Josh enjoys barking at cows, air time, fakey 360’s, and winning at everything, forever. If you ever need a friend, you can call this man because he keeps his Nike’s clean and the threads fo’ real.
Jason “Crump/Crumpdaddy” Crumpler He is actually a bionic man. He has survived stunts that leave all humans and legumes alike baffled. A few examples include: quite literally missing the lander to the bushgap, narrowly missing a telephone pole after soaring 25 mph over a stair gap, having his head accidentally run over by two wheels and a pedal by a fellow teammate, and striking a tree at terminal velocity, all unscathed and unshaken. This man is a mystery. And good looking.
Zac “24/Single?” Cutright Rumor has it that his gearset is still lookin’ for love, this ex-hockey shredder still has only one gear on his bike and in his soul, and that is one of gnarshredding. Zac comes from the everglades in Florida. Rumor has it that he challenged the gator that bit of Chubb’s arm to a shredfest and won in short time.
Dave “The Diesel” Davidson This dual-named dynamic dastardly dude is rumored to actually be a superhero, and his ADHD is just a cover for being really smart like Jason Bourne. Everyone knows he loves to manual, and will someday drink excessive amounts of powerthirst on his front porch while holding hands with his righteous fox and also hopes to have a “slip-n-slide” house for his eight (8) kids.
Bryan “The Imfamous BD” Davis Bryan is an invariably fast rider, and can be a little competitive sometimes. His chiseled abs, firm buns, and blazing stare enrapture men and women of all ages. At times this gets out of hand, for example on a build day a few riders were found to have left their building stations at the wallride to build a golden statue of Bryan. This led to all the ewoks of the forest to come out and begin their worship rituals, and the whole sutation escalated into one big mess when the Imperials showed up and started murdering innocent civilians…Bryan was forced to flex his left bicep to scare them off.
Matt “Firestarter” Hofherr A man of aerodynamics, forced out of some riding time with a severe ankle injury (he still has his foot- sliced Achilles) is one of the Morewood boys. Starting out in XC and moved to downhill racing, Matt has been with us since the beginning when DH began at Clemson and is one of the founding fathers.
Abel Knight Full of surprises and never fails to “go big, you know man?” Abel has been one of the most enthusiastic builders and has contributed to the great atmosphere of Clemson Freeride. Few know of his secrets, like how he enjoys hardcore gangster rap and lived and worked in Miami. When not repping the MIA, Abel humbly represents Clemson as one of the strongest Tigers at Clemson. He was the one who shaped the fire road using sheer willpower and wields a hammer like Conan the Barbarian.
Joel Knight Might as well be Travis Pastrana. The younger sibling of Abel Knight. ‘Nuff said.
Sam “The Guinea Pig” Koenig Coming from a highly diverse upbringing, Sam spent his early years shredding the streets of downtown Washington D.C. Bringing these “asphalt friendly” skills to the red clay of the south has led him to become an interdisciplinary shredding machine. Stairgaps and wallrides have always been his favorites but he has no problem plowing through a rock garden with the best of 'em. Sam has been with the club since the beginning and has an undying love for the sport. Whether it be his purple hard tail or his 50lb rainbow themed fully, he is always excited to be in the air. Sams riding inspiration comes from his unusually large heart and the emo music to which it beats. His partial lack of sanity allows him to test all new stunts, regardless of whether or not it will mean a trip to the hospital.
Zach “5G’s” Suggs His early days were spent in the freestyle skiing world with a quick learning curve. He is need for speed and the lack of snow in Clemson eventually led him to the sport of freeride. Being as light as a feather but as serious as a heart attack gave him the prowess needed to excel in racing and general gnarness. He is known for being a “homewrecker” and will stop at nothing until he achieves victory, even if that means a few broken hearts and bones along the way. His super strong fingers come from an obscene amount of text messaging, which may seem kinda lame, but comes in handy for precise braking control.
Daniel “Sick Moves” Sagan What can be said other than “:)"? Daniel commands his steed with prowess and style, more style than is actually appropriate do discuss here. God once asked if he could borrow one of Daniel’s X-ups to use in a slopestyle competition. Daniel, being the gentleman he is kindly offered not only his X-up, but also his vast quiver of well-thought out tricks.
Joey “J-man/Berrecloth” Short His name actually happens to be a misnomer, “Short” does not describe the length of time the man spends in the air, seamlessly flowing together lines, tricks, moves, and winks. “Short” is the antonym for the length of his hair. “Short” is nothing like the Stillwater Drop, all 26 feet of vertical drop. Look for him on his orange and black RM7, circa 1843. This man is one determined rider. Joey Short, remember the name.
Chris “WODIE” Ward Chris has continued to grow and flourish, not only in speed but as a member of our team. Everyone looks to Chris as not only the quintessential He-Man, but as a great freerider. Another fine addition to the Morewood team, Chris rides with passion, speed, and is looking forward to improving more and having a great time while doing so.
Matt “The Mexican” Williams The name says it all. This man of many lands comes to Clemson freeride with a shovel in one hand and a blueprint in the other. Although he has never actually seen a blueprint, the analogy is an appropriate one. This man can build, and without him our team would have many fewer places to ride. Not only can he build, but he can sure ride a bike. Whether boosting no-footers or showing of his white bike polka dotted with pink and black, Matt is a man of rockin out.
